Decking Wood
Building a roof over wood decking?
I already have a triangle of decking in the corner of my garden, but i want to build a roof over it. What would be the best way to achieve this?
Use 4 X 4 posts to side height you want. Have them rise from a metal brackets mounted in concrete form. I would keep the posts set away from the existing deck and use the clear space for some low bushes or other perennials. From there, you can go up on three sides (whatever pitch) to a peak forming a pyramid (3) roof. Have a carpenter draw it out for you if DIY. Run a buried electric circuit out so you have some nice night lights and a plug in for coffee, etc. Maybe hang some plants from the side beams. Could be a great summer evening dinner deck.
