Pool Cool Decking
i want to break my dog from urinating/pooping on the patio/cool deck around pooll.?
My cavalier King Charles is 7 years old and has been house broken for years. He is really bad about using the bathroom on the patio and on the cool decking around the pool. We have grass right beside the cool deck which he will use also. how can i stop him from doing this on the patio?
Don’t give him access to the patio. I would take him on leash to the grass area (assuming that’s where you want him to go) and give 10 minutes to eliminate there. If he doesn’t, take him inside and crate him or keep an eye on him and then take him out again in about 20 minutes. Once he goes in the place you want him to use give him a small treat and lots of praise. After a few weeks of this you can try walking with him to the grass but not using a leash. After a few more weeks it shouldn’t be necessary to walk to the spot with him.
